I cannot be the only resident of the western Vale who regularly drives to the station in Barry to use the more frequent services that the town has.
However, in the last two months, the car park – already too small for its purpose and in need of expansion – has been reduced further by flooding.
This has not just been during the heavy snowfall at the start of March, or after particularly heavy rainfall overnight, but regularly, on even quite normal Spring days.
I include a photo of how bad this has become recently. Signs say that Network Rail are ‘looking into the problem’ but perhaps they could give The Gem an explanation of what they are doing about the problem and when the car park will be properly usable again?
Not wanting to hedge my bets, but I would guess that it is going to rain again at some point and they ought to be prepared for it.
